I came across Mini First Aid through a Facebook promotion and there was a huge demand for the Infant and Child First Aid class which was shared on our internal and external social channels. The communication and organisation of the event was excellent - Sarah-Lou was professional, engaging and even injected some parent style humour! Being a high-risk activity, we naturally want to ensure our teams our skilled to deal with any issues that may occur in our forest environments, and to continue to provide outstanding customer care. We are pleased to announce that we are working with award winners and industry leaders, Mini First Aid, who will be providing our Tribe with bespoke outdoor first aid training.

One afternoon, we were enjoying a day out in the sunshine and had stopped to feed our daughter of 7 months, she’s just started solid food and we’d been giving her sliced banana to chew on. On this particular day, she inhaled a small piece and began to choke. I quickly remembered Martin’s words, put her in the proper hold, bottom in the air and one forceful strike between her shoulder blades dislodged the banana and although she was shocked, she was able to breathe again and I can’t tell you how relieved we felt! It may have only been 10 seconds in which she couldn’t breathe but it was terrifying. Had I not had the training from Martin and Mini First Aid, I cannot even begin to imagine how differently the situation could have turned out. In fact, I’d go as far to say that the training I received enabled me to save our daughter’s life.

This weekend myself and five mummy friends had a private Mini First Aid session from the comfort of my own home. Now I’ve done it I can’t believe I hadn’t done it sooner, what a no-brainer!! We have been working with Mini First Aid since 2017 on various platforms. Most recently, we ran a highly successful campaign with a 3 pronged approach - the first was to educate more parents about sensitive skin via a Mini First Aid blog, newsletter feature and podcast, the second was to team up on a brand awareness competition via social media, and the third was to reach a wider audience by giving out free Childs Farm samples to hundreds of parents whilst they were learning life-saving first aid. It was a great way to reach our target audience with a multichannel approach.

There are a gazillion things I never seem to get around to doing (fixing the broken blind in our bedroom, getting some photos printed of ‘the baby’ who is almost two but still doesn’t exist on our walls, pinning down the coffee date I’ve been promising my neglected friend via WhatsApp for at least 6 months…) BUT this morning I finally got my arse in gear and ticked off something from my ‘Really Must Do’ list by attending a First Aid class designed specifically for parents, grandparents and carers of babies and young children. It took just two hours out of my morning and covered a whole host of stuff including what to do if a child is choking, how to deal with burns/breaks/bleeding and the basics of life-saving CPR for kids.

Mini First Aid really are the best for all your first aid needs! I found the company online through researching baby first aid products and the reviews were so great that I had to buy and try, and I was so impressed! The first aid kits really are so extensive! I want to say a huge thank you to Angie from Mini First Aid for coming to our home to teach my family and I baby first aid! I had some basic knowledge but it didn’t compare to the hands on approach in our class where we got to practice techniques. Angie was incredible and so patient with us, and the lesson was invaluable to us as new parents!

We have seen hundreds of clients go through the Infection Control Course and heard nothing but positive feedback. They were able to do everything in their own time and now have the ability to promote their certificate/badge to all current and future customers which has helped them secure both venues and new clients. It was a pleasure meeting Kate and Jacky from Mini First Aid and being taught what to do in case of an emergency. Learning CPR and what to do when a child is choking is invaluable.
